It's clear that Peppa didn't inherit her quick-thinking from her dad, Richard. Richard is kind of goofy (OK, really goofy), but he's always in a good mood. When it comes to discipline, he's clueless, and leaves the hardcore parenting stuff to Peppa's mom, Rachel (who he affectionately calls Sugar Booger). Richard collects wooden ducks as a hobby, but he's almost as fascinated by Peppa's neato toys as Peppa is. Strangely, he was president of the Brain Teaser Club in high school.
Richard has dark brown facial hair, dark pink lips, and pink cheeks. He wears a green shirt, and black glasses. He is the first pig in the family to wear glasses, the second pig being Aunt Dot. He wears black shoes.

If he did invest, he would've become a rich snob and a neglectful, uncaring parent to Peppa and George.
- Richard's favorite kind of pizza is hot fudge and anchovy, as mentioned in Sleepless in Animal Town.
- Just like how his children are best friends with Suzy and Gerald, Richard is shown to be close friends with their fathers.
- Richard loves to eat the grapes that roll away from their container at the supermarket, especially to stop them from becoming raisins, which he hates.
- While Peppa's shown to have close relationship with both of his parents, Peppa appears to be somewhat closer to his dad than her mom.
- To help himself sleep, Richard list all the types of pie in alphabetical order. However, he usually starts with "cherry" and has to be reminded by Rachel to start with "apple".
- Richard's full name is Richard Percival Pig, named after Richard Ridings, who was the actor for Peppa's Dad in the original Peppa Pig Series.
